講座人:Professor Marc Smelik,國際商務(wù)教授
嘉賓簡介:Marc is Professor in
International Business and Vice Dean at IE Business School in Madrid,
responsible for the International Business Bachelor programmes with over 1600
students.
After gaining Master degrees in linguistics from the Universities of
Utrecht and Newcastle, and an MBA from Durham University Business School, Marc
spent a decade in banking and finance, with senior roles in corporate finance
and talent management. His academic administrative career was combined with
managing a retail start-up in York, before joining the University of Leeds
full-time in a leadership and teaching role in the rapid development of a
prestigious research business school. In his role as Associate Dean, Marc set
up careers, executive education, corporate relations, and developed
international partnerships across the world for Leeds. Before joining IE, he
was academic dean of the executive MBA and OneMBA at Rotterdam School of
Management, Erasmus University, and chair of the global OneMBA consortium. Marc
teaches in Europe and China, with specific interest in cross-border trade and
M&A, business cultures and strategy, globalisation, entrepreneurship,
higher education development, and banking business strategy. He advises
business start-ups and managed the Leeds team which successfully introduced the
Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses programme in the UK.
Always seeking to push his own boundaries of interest, Marc tries new
things every year – new languages, sports such as marathons and kite surfing,
eclectic musical tastes, cultures and historical perspectives.
