Both individuals and organizations might face stressful situation, setbacks or failure during their respective life cycles. Yet, people’s responses to failure vary widely. Some bounce back after a brief period, while others descend into depression. Learning from setbacks or failure requires positive attitude, emotion and the ability that may ultimately lead to organizational well-being (Cartwright and Cooper 2009). From the psychology perspective, resilience is the ability to ‘bounce back’ from adversity (Fredrickson 2001). In the organization and management studies, resilience is the skill and the capacity to remain robust under conditions of enormous stress and change (Coutu 2002). Embracing resilience as ‘a(chǎn)n idea whose time has come’, this presentation aims to bring together cutting edge research that addresses the role of resilience and HRM practices in enhancing organizational performance and employee well-being in today’s rapid changing workplace environment, focusing on its origins, manifestations and consequences.

 Dr. Eric Yipeng Liu現(xiàn)任英國伯明翰大學(xué)商學(xué)院副教授,創(chuàng)業(yè)與區(qū)域經(jīng)濟系研究主任。獲德國曼海姆大學(xué)管理學(xué)博士學(xué)位(曼海姆管理學(xué)和商科德國排名第一)。 英國高等教育學(xué)院院士。擔任中國與全球化智庫高級研究員?,F(xiàn)任美國鳳凰城大學(xué)(University of Phoenix, USA) 全球商務(wù)研究中心特邀學(xué)術(shù)顧問(Advisory Board),歐盟高級管理教育研究所(European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management) 特邀教授,丹麥奧胡斯大學(xué)(Aarhus University, Denmark)訪問教授(Visiting Professor)。歐洲商務(wù)研究所(EuroMed Research Business Institute)中國區(qū)主任(China Country Director)。受邀在歐洲多所管理學(xué)院和商學(xué)院講學(xué)。曾任美國哥倫比亞大學(xué)商學(xué)院,中歐國際工商管理學(xué)院訪問研究員。多次擔任國際管理學(xué)會分論壇主席,包括美國管理學(xué)會,歐洲管理學(xué)會,哈佛大學(xué)肯尼迪政府學(xué)院“中國走向全球化峰會”, 歐洲創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)會議等。學(xué)術(shù)成果發(fā)表在Human Resource Management, International Business Review, Management International Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management 等國際著名管理學(xué)期刊。任多個國際著名SSCI 期刊特刊主編, SSCI 期刊Management and Organization Review 編委。研究領(lǐng)域:中國企業(yè)國際化,人才流動和創(chuàng)業(yè)創(chuàng)新,可持續(xù)發(fā)展。最新編著Entrepreneurship and Talent Management from a Global Perspective: Global Returnees by Edward Elgar (2016)。主持課題獲英國社會科學(xué)院(British Academy),中英聯(lián)合基金(Sino-British Fellowship Trust),德意志學(xué)術(shù)交流中心(DAAD)等基金資助?,F(xiàn)主持科研項目:中國企業(yè)跨國并購,中小企業(yè)組織彈性和成長。
